Satrapi joins a group of graphic artists who use the comic form in black and white instead of color to examine their lives. Others include Art Spiegelman's
Maus, and the astonishing graphic novel called
Epileptic, by the French artist, David B. For those who are already familiar with comics or are new comers to comics and the graphic novel, do you feel that Satrapi's use of color would have been as effective in her storytelling as her use of black and white?

Yes, I think it would have gotten the same message out to the reader. She did a very good job with her pictures which helped. I do think that the black and white made it a little more interesting.

I think it would still have been a great read, but the black and white adds drama. It makes thing seem more stark.
